Tabs I Can't Close 24: Hotdogs, Climbing Trees, and Linen Sheets

Saturday, September 5, 2015

A few things that have caught my eye recently:

Tamar Adler on homemade hotdogs.

These linen sheets.

I love climbing trees, and I love this too.

On my list to read, because I've apparently found some kind of reading groove with Scandinavian mystery novels. Jo Nesbø's Harry Hole series is the latest after finding Police on the for-sale shelf at the library. (Along with this.)

Also, this interview with Jesse Kamm:

“I remember something Thoreau wrote that resonated so deeply with me about how a man who mends his own clothing and builds his own dwelling is a contented man. I think this is why I am so content in my life. I feel like I don’t need that much stuff. If I have a problem, I’m able to fix it. In our modern society we’ve lost that ability to enjoy home ec or wood shop. Nobody has those skills anymore. We’re out of touch with things that are basic and important.”
